Seniors, families and staff will gather at Rolling Hills Community Church for Lakeridge High School’s graduation ceremony, celebrating the Class of 2026, on June 4 at 5 p.m. The ceremony will honor graduating seniors through speeches, music and the presentation of diplomas as students prepare to move on from high school.
The evening will begin with the processional performed by the LHS band and orchestra as seniors enter wearing caps and gowns. Principal Kevin Mills is expected to welcome students, families and community members before the ceremony continues with student speeches and musical performances.
Music will play a major role throughout the ceremony. The orchestra and band symphony will perform both the processional and recessional pieces, while senior choir students are scheduled to sing “Sign of the Times” by Harry Styles for one final performance together before graduation officially concludes. Another featured musical performance during the ceremony will be “Departure” by Elaina Stuppler.
“I’m excited for what comes next, but it also feels strange leaving a place we’ve known for so long,” said senior Vi French.
Student speakers will also reflect on their experiences and memories as members of the LHS Class of 2026. ASB president Beckett Godfrey is scheduled to speak during the ceremony before graduates officially receive their diplomas. The names of additional student speakers were not available as of press time.
“I’m sad to leave the school that has shaped me into who I am, but I’m also really excited to start college and enter a new stage of life,” said senior Nicole Babitskaya.
After diplomas are presented, graduates will exit during the recessional performance as families and friends gather outside for photos, celebrations and final goodbyes.
“I do feel sad about graduating, but I definitely won’t miss doing high school again,” said senior Laurel Parkison.
Graduation remains one of the most meaningful traditions at LHS because it marks the final time the senior class comes together before beginning a new chapter in life.
