This summer is shaping up to be one the best for entertainment in recent memory. There is an astounding number of box office blockbusters, especially within already established franchises like Marvel, with “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” which is set to release on July 31. 

“I’m definitely most excited for ‘Avengers: Doomsday,’” said senior Nakae Sanders. “It’s been a while since we’ve had a Marvel movie as big as ‘Doomsday.’”

As well as Marvel, DC is also releasing another movie this summer, following up the immensely popular “Superman” that was released in July 2025 with “Supergirl” which will release on June 26. 

Outside of the superhero genre, there are also more sequels being released in animation, such as “Toy Story 5,” which currently has a release date of June 19. 

Apart from franchises though, there are still widely anticipated solo movies releasing this summer. One of the most anticipated of these is Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey,” which will give us another retelling of the classic Greek story on July 17. Apart from “The Odyssey,” another standalone movie releasing this summer, on June 5, is “Masters of the Universe.” 

Whatever genre you are interested in, there is a movie for you in the theaters this summer, so hide your snacks, grab a friend and get a couple tickets to a theater this summer.
