As summer gets nearer, many people argue about which is better: the pool or the beach. While beaches are often praised for their scenery and open space, pools provide a safer, cleaner and more convenient experience for many families.
Pools are cleaned regularly and maintained, making the water more predictable than lakes or oceans. Pools also have lifeguards that are always on duty and watching and clearly marked depths, which can help prevent accidents.
“Some beaches have a bunch of trash on them,” said Jasper Farris.
Convenience is also a reason to prefer pools. Neighborhood and backyard pools are closer to home, making it cheaper with rising gas prices, and requires less equipment. Beaches can also be very crowded and uncomfortable during the summer.
“The pool is easy to access, unlike the beach,” said Nick Steranko. “If you go to the beach, you have to make a whole trip out of it.”
Although beaches have larger spaces and natural beauty, pools remain a popular option for people looking for a more controlled and relaxing environment. For many people, safety, cleanliness and convenience make pools the stronger choice.
