“Invincible,” the superhero action show, has just released its new season, season four, on Amazon Prime Video. The critically acclaimed show had about a one year wait between seasons three and four, and has already shown it has not lost what makes it so special. The season opened with 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, the third season in a row to do so.
Invincible is based on the comic book of the same name by Robert Kirkman, which first released on January 22, 2003. The show has been widely praised for its adaptation of the comic so far, as it has remained almost entirely faithful to the story, while making some changes where needed.
However the show is not without its controversy, specifically, a common complaint of the show is its flat animation, as many scenes appear stiff to some, as if the animators were only moving a PNG across the screen. Some fans push back against this claim though.
“I think I would say they are doing their best with the time they’re given, and the feedback from the audience,” said senior Nic Chiachiaro. “Animation is really hard, and I think they’ve done a great job even though they don’t have much time for each season.”
