Has the Minecraft Movie reached the build limit

Spawning into theaters near you is the highly anticipated movie based on the sandbox game you all know and love: Minecraft.

Director Jared Hess announced his team was making a film on June 17, 2016 titled “A Minecraft Movie.” It’s been nine years coming, but finally, the movie will be released in theaters on April 4, 2025.

Just like the wandering trader’s llamas, the cast is a spitting image of the video game. Jack Black has been crafting his acting skills so he can cater to a niche audience.

Unfortunately, some aren’t so optimistic and Mojang definitely needed a potion of regeneration after the first trailer as they were withering away. While viewers were disappointed, the second trailer has given them hope.

“The props got better on the second trailer, but the first trailer, everything was too controversial, it was too out there,” said sophomore Atsutaro Carstens. “People were just shocked.”

Stacks of effort and funds have been put into the film. The movie is set to have a $150 million budget. For reference, the Mario Movie’s budget was $100 million, and the Barbie Movie was $145 million.

Aiden Konoske is a sophomore starting his first year on the Newspaper. He is looking to bring captivating articles to the LHS student body. Outside of the Newspacer, Aiden plays piano, participates in speech and debate and loves to scuba dive. He is currently learning French in school, but wants to become an architect or film director when he grows up. Joshua Miller is a sophomore staff reporter for the Newspacer. Josh is passionate about solving problems, hence why he enjoys math and the sciences. In his free time you can find him playing soccer, running track, playing video games, or hanging out with his friends. Josh is like a hatching bird, he’s shy when you meet him, but as you develop connection you uncover a whole new world of adventure. Spreading his wings is one of the many attributes Josh has acquired throughout his heroic challenges and triumphs. As Joe Schloetter, sophomore honors English teacher, would say, “high school is just his threshold guardian, and nothing is gonna stop him now!”
