The LHS swim team is treading new waters this year, practicing since September to prepare for the upcoming 2026 swim season. The team is diving into this new season, ready to make a splash.
Last year was an impressive season, ending with the boys ranking fourteenth in state, and girls fourth; but the question is, how will this year stack up?
“We have a lot of new faces this year, we have a pretty solid freshman class coming in. We also have a bunch of new seniors” said girls swim head coach Lillie French, “So I think it’s really a toss up”
A major change for this year’s season is the newly built LORAC featuring a brand new 12 lane competitive pool, finished in June 2025, this means that practices will now be mainly held at the LORAC instead of at the LOSD Swim Pool.
“I think we’re so lucky to have this amazing facility” said French, “I think it allows us a great opportunity to host meets here”Sophomore varsity swimmer Hailey Brandvold echoed the excitement
“I am so excited to start meets!” said Brandvold. “The atmosphere is always so positive and they get even more fun every time especially leading up to districts and state”
The first LHS home meet will be on Jan 8th vs. West Linn.
