Children around the world wait eagerly for those sleigh bells on Christmas Eve, but that’s all built on a set of lies. Since Santa’s methods are easily proven to be straight up impossible.
Firstly, looking at the beloved elves which make Christmas happen. According to a study done by the University of St.Thomas, you’d need to employ roughly 4.3 million elves to ensure enough toys for all kids in the world. This isn’t even counting the amount of elves you’d need for other sectors like agriculture, and education.
Santa’s business is also highly questionable, firstly is the wages for his elves that he employs. Using Oregon’s minimum wage of $15.05 Hours an hour, to pay his 4.3 million workers he’d need to be making at least 64 million dollars per day.
Santa needs to deliver all of presents to kids for Christmas Day, “Assuming 30 hours to deliver presents, by traveling pole to pole on each meridian, 12,000 miles x 360 meridians = 4,320,000 miles, 4,320,000/30 hour = 144,000 miles per hour, the escape velocity of earth is 24,600 miles per hour, so santa would leave earth and never return without a rocket.” said physics teacher Matthew Price.
“I kinda thought he wasn’t real,” said sophomore Safari Low. “I just think a lot of it didn’t make sense.”
Even though Santa isn’t real, the Christmas spirit he represents is just a white lie, so preserve it for those who believe.
