As winter approaches, everyone starts getting excited about the upcoming ski and snowboard season. Athletes are spending more time on the slopes while bonding with teammates and making new friends.
“My favorite part about the team is hanging out with friends while on the mountain,” said sophomore snowboarder, Jenevieve Jacky.
Along with Jacky, many athletes feel the same way. The ski and snowboard team isn’t just about competition—it’s about building a community.
Whether riders are carving down the mountain, warming up in the lodge, or cheering each other on during races, the atmosphere is filled with support and excitement. As the first snowfall approaches, the enthusiasm on campus is impossible to miss. Everyone is eager to get back on the mountain, push themselves, and make memories with teammates who often become close friends.
“One of my favorite parts of skiing is hanging out in the lodge with friends while eating food and warming up before I get back on the mountain,” said sophomore skier, Kyle Hammond.
As the winter season settles in, excitement continues to build around the LHS ski and snowboard teams. With even more new goals and friendships waiting to be made on the mountain, athletes are ready to hit the slopes and make this year unforgettable.
