With every count of eight, the dance team got closer together and closer to state.
PDT went to state at the beginning of spring break. At state, they competed two routines: hip hop and contemporary. They placed third in contemporary and fourth in hip hop. London Kniss, Ellie Corman, Ainsley Mackenzie, and Eliana Partain also competed with solos.
“I think our strongest routine is hip hop,” sophomore Ashley Brown said.“We all really love the routine and overall hip hop is probably our strongest style of dance.”
“Our strongest routine is hip hop, which has gotten first at most of our competitions this year and is still improving,” said sophomore Brix Williams.
The team had high goals of doing well and placing at state, but the dancers had personal goals too.
“My personal goal is to do the best I can in both dances,” said Brown.
Not only are the team’s routines strong, but so is their bond.
“I love the atmosphere and I love all the girls on the team,” said Williams. “We are super close and we’re a big family.”
The team is inseparable and it isn’t often you find a team with a bond like the PDT dancers have, leaving the girls happy they met each other.
“In summer we do a beach retreat,” said Williams. “We do games in practice weekly.”
