With the next presidential election coming up, many people are talking about who the next leader of the United States will be, and they forgot about the recent changes to the leadership of LHS.
This year saw a couple changes to LHS administration, including new assistant principal Sally Farrell. LHS has three assistant principals running the school. Farrell mainly focuses on student management, where she says she strives to be a person that students can trust.
“I really just want to get to know students, build good relationships with students [and] be present in the halls, engaging with people,” Farrell said.
Farrell has been working with LOSD for about 12 years, working as a biology teacher at LOHS for 10.
“I was really blown away by all the amazing students and staff that were [at LHS],” said Farrell. She continued, saying she “developed a lot of good relationships in such a short period of time.”
A more familiar face to most, John Parke has moved to the role of athletic director. The many responsibilities of his team include ensuring every coach has the right certifications and training, as well as scheduling competitions for every sport.
“There’s just many little pieces to the program,” he said. He made sure to credit his “great staff,” who he works with to get his work done.
Parke has worked as an administrator at both middle schools, but he thinks LHS “feels more like a big, giant family.”
