The crisp air, the scent of warm food, and the collection of people all mean one thing: The Fall Market has returned to LHS. Each year, the market transforms the school grounds into a place where vendors showcase everything from handmade jewelry and thrifted clothes to fresh-baked goods, unique artwork and beauty products.
The Fall Market is more than just a place to shop; it’s a celebration of local talent and school spirit. Students, parents, teachers, and community members come together and support local, familiar faces. Clubs were there not only to raise funds, but also to share their culture and passions with the wider community.
One of those clubs was the Chinese Club, which offered a popular booth filled with food and snacks.
“We sold fried dumplings and spring rolls,” Samantha Wong, a club member said. “We also had some Chinese snacks like milk rabbit candy, rice crackers, and boxed drinks like lemon tears.”
The group hopes to continue building momentum.
“We are planning on being at the Spring Market and bringing food!” said Wong.
For the Chinese Club, the Fall Market was about more than just sales.
“I believe the market inherently brings the Lakeridge community together,” Wong said. “For clubs and groups to organize, plan, and actually sell something requires a lot of teamwork and understanding.”
She also loved watching her peers sell products that supported causes they cared about or reflected something they were passionate about.
The event also gave many clubs a chance to showcase leadership and invite new members at
the start of the school year.
Other booths had different appeals. Senior Micah Leake ran his own clothing stand, with the help of senior Carmel Raviv, offering thrifted and upcycled pieces.
“It was really cool seeing people stop by, check out what I was selling, and actually leave with something they liked,” Leake said. “The best part was connecting with people who share the same interest in fashion.”
Whether through delicious snacks, unique crafts, or creative small businesses, the Fall Markey proves once again that it’s not just an event, but a tradition that strengthens the bonds of the LHS community.
