After a grueling four weeks, the LHS class of 2025’s Senior Survivor has come to a close and the winner has been announced.

Coming out on top of a group of 143 seniors, the victor was Cyrus Ansari.
“I knew that I was going to win as soon as the game started,” said Ansari.
After taking out fellow senior Christopher Diaz in a final elimination, Ansari was crowned the victor with a total of six eliminations.
Along with his newfound bragging rights, Ansari also claimed the prize money of $710 for his victory.
“With the prize money, I’m going to buy a new pair of skis,” said Ansari.
Senior Survivor has been a tradition at LHS for many years, although it didn’t go by the same name. Last year, the event’s name was changed from Senior Assassin due to issues that the school board had with the name.
That’s not all that’s changed about the game, however. Although the entry fee of $5 remains the same, the prize money has increased dramatically.
In 2022 the winner was only awarded $230– a lot of money for a high schooler, but a small number compared to this year’s $710.
It’s clear that there has been an increase in participation over the years. Over half of the senior class this year, 143 students out of the total 280 seniors, signed up for the event.
Although this year’s game is over, Senior Survivor as a whole is not. For the foreseeable future, it will continue to be a memorable event that brings the graduating class together.
