The Best Applications of our Generation
December 2, 2014
Today’s smartphones can do everything from paying the bills with the scan of a fingerprint, to taking high resolution photographs to gaming and socializing friends. With such a diversity of things to do, there are a lot of applications for downloading that are all made popular by our generation.
Whether its new and upcoming or a classic, the Apple and Android app stores have them all. Categories include News, Entertainment, Health and Fitness, Education, Social Media and many more.
Out of all the different selections and types, several stand out from all the rest. Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter are just a couple of the media apps, which happen to also be some of the biggest. However, a warning should be put out there that Snapchat does keep all the photos you send, and nobody wants that to come back to haunt them. But these apps also provide some nice benefits as well.
With friends and family always trying to connect and communicate, these three apps provide quick, easy, and fun ways of doing it.
“I have an account on all three of those applications, they are really fun for keeping up with friends, and any celebrity crushes I might have,” said freshman Eliza Donaghy.
Games like Angry Birds, Doodle Jump and Minecraft have been around for a while, and they show no signs of going away anytime soon. All of these games were made in 2009, five almost 6 years ago, and they all continue to update and please those who download the app.
“I spend my evening making alternative worlds for me to escape to, it helps with stress and I sleep better at night when I play it, I am a very loyal fan,” said senior Gretchen Darby.
If you are taking a photo to share with friends like Eliza, building a sweet fortress like Gretchen, or anything else you could possibly do, smartphones have a place for everyone.
