Currently fourth in state, football has set their pace for this season. The team has been getting their best results in years.
Their current record is 5-1. The Pacers have many high-scoring wins, including a 55-3 win against Barlow and 42-2 against Jefferson.
The Pacers only fell short against No. 2 ranked West Linn. The final score was a 0-13 loss for LHS.
“I just think we just weren’t our best offensively and we have minor things we have to fix as a team together” said senior cornerback David Moore. “I think we can beat them down the road.”
Despite their recent loss, the team has been working hard to get results. The coaches and players have high expectations for this season.
“This year it feels like everyone is all in for the team,” said senior receiver Sam Pottmeyer. “We’re really confident this year and I think we will pleasantly surprise people.”
The involvement Pottmeyer mentioned extends beyond the team. The student section has been packed every Friday night with Pacers cheering on the players.
“The student section has been really good this year,” said Moore. “It helps motivate us on the field.”
The team has three games left in their season and is working towards playoffs. They are expected to have a home playoff game.
Fans can watch the team close their regular season on Nov. 1 against No. 1 ranked Lake Oswego High in the Battle of the Lake game. The game is at LOHS.
