Sugar and spice, and everything nice is what a good pumpkin spice treat should have. Emma Haskin, a language arts teacher, is a pumpkin spice lover.
Every year, cafes, bakeries, and stores like Starbucks come out with pumpkin spice drinks and treats in the fall.
“I really enjoy the pumpkin flavored baked goods,” said Haskin.
She specifically looked forward to the pumpkin cream cheese muffin from Starbucks.
There are lots of people who like the pumpkin spice flavor, but over the recent years, Starbucks has released the flavor in the summer and ended it in the winter. That’s almost three seasons.
Even Haskin said that the middle of September to the end of November is the ideal duration.
New flavors and combinations bring in lots of new customers, even if the actual drink isn’t as tasty as expected.
“I tried their new pumpkin cream cold brew,” said Haskin. “I was not a fan of that. So while I was excited for its arrival, the actual tasting of it was disappointing.”
“Once November is over, once it’s December, I think pumpkin is done,” said Haskin.
With such a lengthy season, it seems like pumpkin spice is being used by Starbucks to attract more customers. Come on, it’s just sugar and spice.
