In many ways LHS is not your stereotypical high school. We are an institution which collectively places an emphasis on individuality. Students are prompted to push the envelop and to stray away from following the crowd. As a result our student body breeds fantastically diverse schools of thought. Of course people congregate within social groups of similar interests, yet the halls of LHS hold students of many different walks of life.
How students dress is a prime example of these varying schools of thought. It gives us a peek into people’s complex and unique lifestyles. The great abundance of style repped within LHS also speaks wonders of our student body’s maturity to accept others. Rather than promoting conformity, we praise our fellow classmates for putting themselves out there. The following photos document this array of fashion.
Kyle Sosa, fashion enthusiast, rocks an up-and-up grunge look. The man is often found rummaging through thrift shops, constantly searching for the next golden find.Ramon Berendes is a Dutch exchange student who often combines street wear with a prep vibe. Look out for the friendly European native roaming the doughnut.Sara Shatsky is well known for her talented artwork within LHS. Generally she sports a modern goth look and likes her outfits to push the envelope of style at the high school.George Jones is a senior at LHS. His outfits can almost certainly be described as eccentric and shiny in the most fantastic, yet peculiar ways. If you see him walking through the halls, ask him about his turtleneck collection. Lona Tappouni is good friends with and shares similar style as previously mentioned Kyle Sosa, yet takes her look to the level of what could be dubbed as ‘future 90s grunge’. She’s a neat individual who contemplates being a fashion designer.Ava Reeves is also renowned for her work in Mrs. McBride’s AP Art class. She is a tea connoisseur and reps an alternative-classy approach to not only her day-to-day activities but also in her daily wear.Josh Lee takes on a gentlemen’s prep style. He is an enthusiastic senior at LHS, who runs cross country, swims, and plays tennis. The three sport athlete is also an avid member in Key Club and hopes to become a pediatrician someday.
