Boys varsity soccer wins 3-1 against Aloha
September 2, 2015
The boys varsity soccer team won 3-1 against Aloha on Tuesday September 1, 2015. This was the first game in two years where they came back after the opposing team started scoring. The game was at home and it was a nice start to the season for the team.
Senior Nate Barba, junior Paul Seydel and sophomore Colin Pinkerton scored.
“We worked really hard,” said Senior Matt Jordan. “We worked hard after adversity. It’s a new team and so far we’re looking pretty good.”
Last year, the team consisted of upperclassmen. This year, three sophomores were accepted on to the team. Johnny Rodas-Hills, Colin Pinkerton and Miles Willis are the new sophomore team members. Rodas-Hills is the only sophomore starter.
“Our successful comeback was led by a team effort,” said scorer Nate Barba. “Each player on the field outworked their opponent making the resulting goals inevitable.”
“It was a good start to the new season,” said junior Ben Seydel.
The next home game will be on Sep. 8 against Grant High School at 7.
