Last summer will forever be remembered as the one when everyone cried on a Wednesday night. Why? Because it was the final season of “The Summer I Turned Pretty.”
The show had a huge audience of 25 million viewers worldwide, which was a 40% increase from last season. This was due to the release of the final season, leaving viewers with lots of opinions.
“The Summer I Turned Pretty” first started as a book series written by Jenny Han. It was then turned into a show series in the summer of 2022 that streamed on Prime Video.
The story follows the life of a girl named Belly Conklin. She discovers different love interests during her annual summer trip to Cousins Beach with the Fisher family.
Fans are most torn between the two Fisher brothers, Conrad and Jeremiah. The burning question: which brother will
win Belly’s heart?
Even though they are brothers, their different personalities caused Belly to be conflicted about her feelings for each,
throughout all the seasons. Viewers have their own opinions about the brothers, creating the divide of Team Conrad or Team Jeremiah.
Senior Reese Forseth knows exactly what team she’s on.
“I have been loyal to Team Conrad since Season 1,” said Forseth. “We have had our ups and downs, but he is hotter, better, and not a manchild like Jeremiah.”
“The Summer I Turned Pretty” has attracted a wide population of streamers. Math teacher Patrick Gregg is quite familiar with the show as it plays in the background of his house. His wife is a fan, and he rated the show.
“It’s like a six-seven,” said Gregg. “It’s a well-produced show, but very dramatic.”
It’s true, the drama lasted until the final moments of the last episode. Sophomore Kate Houlihan gave the series finale a thumbs up.
“I’m glad she finally got with Conrad!” said Houlihan.
