From neutrals to bold to statement-making designs, LHS students continue to follow the newest nail trends.
Since the “glazed donut” nails became popular in 2023, chrome nails continue to dominate.
“I think it would be cute to see more people do chrome nails,” said junior Reagan Huish. “I like how they’re shimmery but not too glam and out there.”
Russian manicures seem to be making a comeback. Known for their ultra clean, precise preparation and application, they create a flawless, long-lasting finish.
Another trend making waves are aura nails. The soft, airbrushed technique blends multiple colors to create a glowing and gradient look, making each set look unique.
“Aura nails have that incredible airbrushed glow… you can switch up the colors to make them soft and dreamy or bold and edgy,” said senior Alexis Gonzalez.
The simple and elegant French tips have also evolved beyond the traditional white. Micro-French manicures, colorful outlines, and abstract twists on the classic design have been growing in popularity.
“I love tiny, intricate designs—little stars, flowers or geometric patterns that add detail without being too much,” said Gonzalez.
At the other end of the spectrum, maximalist nail art has become much more popular. Intricate designs, 3D embellishments, charms and mix-and-match patterns are turning nails into mini canvases.
Popular locations for manicures in Lake Oswego are First-Class nails, Dipped, La Vie nails and Luxor Nails.
Whether glossy and neutral or bright and detailed, this season’s nail trends prove that manicures are more than just polish, they’re a statement.
