Even if it’s raining, the LHS softball team shows up to practice, determined to better themselves for future games. Not even the pouring rain can stop them from accomplishing their goal, which is to play their best while also supporting one another and having fun.
“I have friendships from this team that I know will last a lifetime,” said senior Finley Dickson.
The girls all say similar things, they want to play their absolute best while forming meaningful friendships. And they have stuck with their goals. Practice for the softball team can include doing drills on a variety of specific things to better their performance One of them being scrimmages to mimic game-like situations, and working on communicating with one another to keep them all alert and ready during games, while also encouraging each other.
“The best part is going out after a game to a restaurant as a team, and you can always hear constant laughter from our table,” said junior Anna Hubbs.
The girls have bonded over their love for the sport while enjoying one another’s company. While they work on bettering their skills, they never fail to crack a joke or support one another.
“Everyone on the team is super supportive and we give each other a lot of confidence on the field,” said senior Macy Safley.
The team’s next home game is April 2, at 4:30 PM, where they will be playing against Sunset and their team Apollos.
